When The Kids Move Out: Limerick Off Monday

Ever wonder what life will be like when the kids move out? Don’t be fooled by that illusion. When it is said that something’s too good to be true, well, you know the truth, it’s too good to be true…

Limerick Post (Limerick-Off Monday) of MAD KANE’S HUMOR BLOG challenges readers/writers to write, obviously, LIMERICKS! This week’s suggested first line that I chose was:

“All our kids have at last flown the nest… “14-8-25 family

All our kids have at last flown the nest

All our kids have at last flown the nest.
Now my wife and I walk ’round undressed.
It may sound benign,
but it isn’t so fine
when a kid’s an unannounced guest.

All our kids have at last flown the nest.
My wife and I now enjoy rest.
But like Mae West’s old line,
“Come up and see us sometime..
but make it later than sooner”, we jest.

All our kids have at last flown the nest.
But not really, it’s only a test.
They reserve the right
to return any night
that life has them too overstressed.
