Home is where the heat is…
Friday Fictioneers on Monday (an original take) – Rochelle Wisoff-Fields posts a pic to write a 100 word story about.
This week it’s: Taking a Stand (politics and humor – hey, that’s not funny!)
Sam and Martha Debate Environmental Issues at Home
Sam, please, cut this back.
I told you Martha, I’m letting everything go natural.
Sam, it’s so overgrown. Take the bush trimmer, please.
Martha, I’m not contributing to global warming by using a gas-powered device.
Sam, since when have you become so environmentally conscious?
I’ve told you a hundred times how concerned I am.
Concerned, I understand. But this is not concern. This is refusal.
Refusal? Absolutely not. I’m taking a stand. A political action.
Oh? So, that’s what you call it? A political action?
Absolutely, Martha.
No problem, Sammy. Here’s a scythe. Have at it, politically.
Huh?
Randy Mazie
Good for her!! I must admit I don’t have a bush trimmer, either or rather, mine is either a hand-operated clipper or a lopper, depending on the size of things. But I try to never let things get this overgrown so the battle with the plants doesn’t loom as large. 🙂
janet
You signed as Janet. Martha – I know your writing when I see it. You’re Martha. I know how Janet writes. She writes about food and spiral staircases and lighting subtleties and family.
You can’t fool me, Martha! Ha. You know, all that hot air is not good for the environment either.
Sam
Is that Sam-I-am? I (Janet/Martha) am a bit distracted right now, watching the devastation in Moore, OK from the 1-2 mile wide tornado that swept through long ago. That was NOT good for the environment or people!
“That was NOT good for the environment or people!”
Not at all – like the grim reaper’s scythe – not nythe at all – wythe is this happening? Crythe Mythe – why am I lisping?
Thay it ain’t tho.
ha. 😉
Ah, the scythe, always an environmentally good option. And good for exercise too.
Listen Dora, You scythe the nettles and I’ll pick up after you this time… 🙂

Dear Sam,
I’m scything with relief. About time. 😉
shalom,
Martha
It was a post co-scyth-al piece.
I needed time to recover…
Love you Martha,
Your Sammy boychick – the revolutionary
