A Batman New Year’s Eve: Picture It and Write

Don’t tug on Superman’s cape and don’t pull that mask of the old Lone Ranger.

A Batman New Year’s Eve

This is a stupidest job I’ve ever had, plus it’s just downright dangerous.

I should have passed on it.

Clark should have taken it. He can take the heat better than me.

They should have asked me to just shine my Batman Logo Light on the midnight sky, and that would have been excitement enough.

But no, that darn fool of a chairman for the New Year’s Eve Extravaganza thought too many people would see it on New Year’s Eve and think that Gotham City was in trouble. They’d panic, he said. They might think it was terrorists.

I think that’s dumb.

A media blitz every day for two weeks ahead of time letting the city know what would happen at midnight would have quelled all their fears.

And now, fool that I am, I’m standing here with a loaded cannon shooting off the works along with my mouth about how stupid I am for taking this job.

If Robin hadn’t begged me with his “Shazaam, Batman, you got to do this for the kids. It’s your civic duty.” I would never have done it.

Well, I’m not doing it next year. That’s for sure.

I already booked the Lone Ranger. I got Tonto to do a Robin on him.
