A terrorist is a terrorist…
I struggled with this one. Not just the hardest Wordle (which it is) but the hardest piece that I done so far – and I am not very satisfied with it which does not happen that often for me.
The Sunday Whirl blog invites writers to write a poem or short prose using some or all of the “wordle’s” 12 word.
This week’s words are (actually a baker’s dozen):
Christian or Infidel: Terrorist Minds
Do you think that Infidels struggle much?
Do they need saving from thoughts that they have?
Will they thrive in Christianity’s touch –
With paradise promised beyond the grave?
Do you think Infidels harden their hearts
Against our true shelter of purest faith?
Their lives, do you think, spent in godless parts,
Will burn eternal in judgment and wrath?
So, if we believe these nonbelievers
Are lost because of their self-reliance,
Must we think them such social upheavers
That they’ll bomb to maintain their resilience?
Guaranteed: those who shock – Christian or not –
Will be shipped where it’s infernally hot!

This was a very difficult and heavy prompt this week. but I find your poem to be intriguing. What is really on the mind of a terrorist? Nicely written.
Thank you. Did my best with this for one day. Might go back to it another time. I file away a lot of my work to go back to later.

I have left a few comments on your work on your blogsite:
I don’t know enough about these boy bombers yet except to think that they are another pair of “crazies”. Time will tell us more as the investigation goes on. But never-the-less, knowledge will never undo the loss of lives and limbs. The horror and tragedy of this and so many other bombings of innocents here and worldwide.
interesting how the old guys never strap it up
they just convince young men
that right and wrong turn upside down
and when the siren wail
and police dogs howl
they sip their tea and
yawning deeply
snuggle under the duvet.
That is so true, at times, because of the old guys.
Well written indictment.
And yet “old guys” could be interchangeable with so other many nouns/categories
that affect those who have to suffer their influences.
