When You Need Some Time Away to Think, a Barn is not the Place: Friday Fictioneers

Gertie books a place for them so that Morris can get away and think. But, boy, does it go awry!

Each week Rochelle Wisoff-Fields posts a pic to write a 100 word story about. This week’s photo is:

Gertie, you did it again, Morris complained.
Gertie couldn’t focus.
We’re schlepping suitcases across a field, like two meshuganas, to an old barn! For what?
Gertie was schvitzing from the strain.
All I wanted was to get away and think. Why a barn, Gertie?
Gertie mumbled about a storm
Storm? What storm? It’s clear.
She looked at the clear sky, the clear vision of the barn ahead, and knew she had made a clear boo-boo.
She said, I thought you said you wanted a barn storm.
Morris laughed. I said I needed a brain storm, Gertie. Not a barn storm.

  1. Dear Randy,

What we have here is a failure to communicate. I hope she got a gantze magillah on that barn getaway. Love the Yiddishkeit. Happy to see you here in the FFFold, Reb Randy.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle
