We face a choice today, whether we recognize it or not…
Each week The Sunday Whirl invites writers to write a poem or short prose using some or all of the “Wordle’s” 12 words. This week it is:

Wordle’s words
What You Gonna Do Today?
Here’s the limit:
Kick all you want,
Mimic, spin or flip,
But the future’s here.
The car parks itself,
The state enforces the line,
And the phone flashes the message.
You can’t insulate yourself,
You can’t fade into the background,
And you can’t hide behind the rim of your denials.
So, feel this next line coming:
What you gonna do today?

I’m not sure I like this brave new world …
Change is always difficult and frightening. But we are adaptable. No?
Randy
Old dogs and new tricks come to mind
Ah, so true and so stressful a world, keep going forward we must. Love your poem.
Thank you. Forward, ah yes, we must go. Good words.
Randy
aye, the future is here
quite confrontational, this piece
I like
Thanks. No hiding under your tortoise shell here, no sirree.
Randy
In the very best of ways you made me realise how many days we can waste – a superb write
Why, Thank you. Waste not – want not. Someone famous said that. LOL
Randy
Hopefully, I will spend it writing my way into tomorrow, if it comes. What else is there to do?

That’s just the ticket. Go for it.

Write, write, write . . . and draw! Love this, Randy, especially “hiding behind the rim of your denials”
Thanks. Writing does get some of us by… good you can draw. I used to like watercolors. The mistakes became a nice part of the work.
