Whether we like it or not, there is a path that we all walk…
Each week The Sunday Whirl invites writers to write a poem or short prose using some or all of the “Wordle’s” 12 words. This week it is:
The Path
There is a path, path, path.
where you cannot run:
from or towards.
There is a past, past, past;
food:
savored, not eschewed.
There is tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow;
energy wishing to become:
today’s view, walking.
There is this moment, moment, moment;
which cannot be transformed:
breathe deep.
Watch your thoughts, thoughts, thoughts;
pick through them, choose well:
do not replay them.
Cast all weeds aside;
practice is the best weapon:
on this path, path, path.

The reiteration of the key words certainly drives the message home!
Like the Mets winning the other day!
Stamp, stamp stamp – to skip skip skip…we certainly have to practice that..make our footfalls lighter..bearable..hopefully even at some point enjoyable..a wonderful wonderful wonderful poem
Thank you.
And a wonderful response, response, response.
Stamp, stamp, stamp…
Randy
I’m not sure why but this reminds me of years of piano lessons as a child… a fun read, Randy.
Uh,oh. I hope it was a pleasurable experience, and not a forced miserable rote and resentful one.
Randy
I loved it; was one of few things I was truly good at.
I’m glad – and surely it was not one of the few things that you are truly good at.
I’m sure you are good at many things – although you may outshine the otherw with your playing. 😉
Randy
You have winkled out a great philosophy from those words. I hope you have chewed thoroughly the food you’ve not eschewed!
You grasped onto one of my favorite word puns in the piece.
You chewly did.
Randy
BTW I liked your “winkled”. I had to look it up as i thought it was a neologism.
Randy
No, it’s an oldogism
I realize that now…. 😉
you know, you can’t teach old dogs new isms
(I’m referring to myself, of course)
I enjoyed these bits of wisdom and the form you used to convey them, Randy.
janet
Thanks, Janet.
How are you doing?
Randy
We cannot move anywhere but forward… but just maybe there is repetition in all forward motion.. like a bicycle pedal.
I like that analogy.
As Harry Chapin sang, “All of life’s a circle, sunrise to sundown.”
Randy
What an interesting form .. I loved the repetitions of this form.
Me, too.
Me, too.
Me, too.
LOL (standing ovation!) Clap! Clap! Clap!
the rhyming words in each paragraph makes me smile.
cool word flow.
lovely sunday cheers.
Cheers back at you….
Randy
This is awesome. Great message.
Thank you, OB.
It’s a path i walk along with many others.
Randy
practice, practice, practice

while strengthening skill

yes, yes, and yes.
I love the rhythm in this, Randy. It feels like I am being propelled.
