A good friend always offers a helping hand…
Each week Rochelle Wisoff-Fields posts a pic to write a 100 word story about.
This week it’s sweet humor.
A Friend in Hand
“I’m sorry, Mr. Hershey, I just can’t go out there in the rain,” she cried.
“Sure you can, Red. We’re just going to the car.”
“Sorry, but I can’t.”
“Red, please” Mr. Hershey implored, “We’ll be late if we don’t leave now.”
“I know.”
“But you waited so long for this.”
Red lowered her head.
“Listen, Red, I’ll carry you.”
“Carry me?”
“I will,” Mr. Hershey promised, “in my own two hands.”
Red searched Hershey’s eyes.
“I promise you won’t melt”.
“How do you know?”
“You’re an M and M, Red. You melt in a mouth, not in my hands.”

Dear Randy,
Ever test that theory on a hot summer day? Cute story. Sweet humor indeed. 😉 I’m going to go line my M&M’s in alphabetical order now.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Good luck lining them up alphabetically.
Are you going to start from the end of the alphabet or the beginning?
Randy
Yes.
Cool.
Sweet!
Dude!
(the response is from “Dude, Where’s My Car” in case you didn’t know the reference)
Randy
ha ha. Eventually Red is going to melt 🙂 Nice one.
I think she’ll not only melt but swoon from Mr. Hershey’s treatment.
Randy
Nice twist at the end.
Ω
always twisted.
I take umbrage with your tale Sir, the red ones always melt first. But in fairness not a bad way to go Nestle(d) in Mr Hersey’s arms. 🍫
I like it – Nestled in Hershey’s arms. That gave me a good Snicker! Ha.
Randy
great! is mr. Hershey talking to himself again? 🙂
Are you talking to me?
Ha! I knew something was going to “run” in the rain. Poor Ms. M&M, one way or another she’s not long for this world.
But she’s not wrong for this world either.
Groan.
Wassa matter? You didn’t like the Whopper? You got malted balls?
Now there was a surprise. Put a big smile on my face.
I like big smiles on faces.
That puts a big smile on mine, too.
Thanks,
Randy
Sweet story!
yes it is.
Fun stuff! Maybe she’ll be melting anyway…. ^.^… later on…
Mr. Hershey has that affect on women.
Randy
Sweet! 😉
Dude!*
*See reference to “Dude, Where’s My Car?”
Randy
Well, that’s the theory anyway 🙂 Fingers crossed that Red makes it!
No, if you cross your fingers, she definitively melts!
Randy
Yea, a little bit of silliness to lighten the mood in this week’s collection of tales! I thought I was only one to not take it too seriously!
Rosey Pinkerton’s blog
I try to take nothing too seriously – seriously!
😉 Randy
I always liked the red one best… 😉
Oooh. I’m telling…
Very cute, Randy, you had me fooled! M&Ms are now made by Hershey’s?
I don’t know.
But in this story Hershey is definitely trying to put the make on an M&M.
(Snicker. Snicker.)
Randy
I always wanted to know what the female version of Dude is, therefore:
Sweet!
It’s:
Sweetie!
Dudess!
Great ending twist, Randy. I at first thoght of Riding Hood, but that doesn’t go with rain Mr. Hershey might be a wolf though. I’ve heard he sometimes deals in kisses. Well done. 😀 — Suzanne
That’s funny!
Thanks, Randy
