A Friend in Hand: Friday Fictioneers

A good friend always offers a helping hand…

Each week Rochelle Wisoff-Fields posts a pic to write a 100 word story about.

This week it’s sweet humor.

A Friend in Hand

“I’m sorry, Mr. Hershey, I just can’t go out there in the rain,” she cried.
“Sure you can, Red. We’re just going to the car.”
“Sorry, but I can’t.”
“Red, please” Mr. Hershey implored, “We’ll be late if we don’t leave now.”
“I know.”
“But you waited so long for this.”
Red lowered her head.
“Listen, Red, I’ll carry you.”
“Carry me?”
“I will,” Mr. Hershey promised, “in my own two hands.”
Red searched Hershey’s eyes.
“I promise you won’t melt”.
“How do you know?”
“You’re an M and M, Red. You melt in a mouth, not in my hands.”

  1. Great ending twist, Randy. I at first thoght of Riding Hood, but that doesn’t go with rain Mr. Hershey might be a wolf though. I’ve heard he sometimes deals in kisses. Well done. 😀 — Suzanne
