Is This Really Where We Got Our Kicks?: Friday Fictioneers

Never underestimate the power of memory or possible delusions…

Each week Rochelle Wisoff-Fields posts a pic to write a 100 word story about.

This week it’s, it’s, it’s a mess.

Is This Really Where We Got Our Kicks?

I don’t get that “unthink” sign. It reads UNTHINK, but the “U” is upside down. The “N” is backwards. I looked at the other side and then “UN” is correct, but “THINK” is upside down. What does it mean? I don’t have time to think about it. Ha.

Think. I can’t be late. Am I? The other signs clearly read Route 66 and BEGIN. But what a mess.

And these other signs: park, no parking, alternate parking? Where’s the Vette parked?

A hand presses on my shoulder. “George, Are you okay?”

“Marty. You’re here. You’re the only thing that makes any sense today.”

  1. Fun weirdness. I saw George and Marty and immediately thought Hello, McFly. But then the Vette would have been a DeLorean. Martin Milner was my fave on Adam-12.

    • Now that’s a comment I can agree with. Signage in cities, or anywhere for that matte,r is ridiculous. And only serves to confuse, aggravate , and cause more accidents, family squabbles, and divorces than anything else in this country – other than maybe politics.

And you may quote me on that.

  2. I “faintly” remember that show. Was it about the same time (in date) as “Father Knows Best” or “Leave it to Beaver?” Or “Lassie”, Or “Roy Rogers and Dale Evans,”or, “Bonanza” or…. or does this make me a whole lot older than you? 😀

Have some fun...
