Ever see something pop right out of the ground? Bet’cha not. And neither did these two fellers until…

The picture prompt for this week is below:
Coming Upon An Unusual Cast Iron Sculpture With a Hand and A What?
Jay, is that a Bible in that hand?
Nah, Frank, t’ain’t no Bible at all.
Well, Jay, what d’ya think it is?
Well, first of all, so ya know, it’s genu-wine cast iron.
Okie-doke. So?
And it’s a statue, sort of.
Well, Jay, that’s pretty dern sort of obvious. So, what’s yer point?
T’ain’t no point, but t’ain’t no Bible.
Then what is it?
Well, I know this, I’m told it’s got her whole life in it.
What’cha mean her whole life?
Well, ev’rything she ever writ, ev’ry picture she ever had, ev’ry bill she ever paid,
taxes, ev’rything. Ev’rything is in that.
Nah, Jay, say it t’ain’t true.
But it t’is.
Then what iz zit?
You wouldn’t believe it if I told ya.
Is it like a miniature crypt with her ashes in it?
Sort of.
Well, go’wan.

Reminds me a bit of the end of “Carrie.” 🙂
janet
doesn’t ring a bell for me….
An old horror movie where at the very end her hand shoots out of the ground (she’s dead at the time.)
I got it now.
I was around when Carrie came out – I just never watched it. I don’t like horror/science fiction/bizarre scary stuff.
It’s hard enough living inside my brain as it is. Ha. Can you imagine if i was into that stuff, too!
Thanks, Janet.
Nice humerous twist at the end. Well done!
