Helen in heaven? Read on…
Friday Fictioneers – is a fiction. It’s every day.
Rochelle Wisoff-Fields posts a pic to write a 100 word story about.
This week it’s: biographical, tender, loving, respectful, humor
Heavenly Helen
How do you like being up here, Helen?
I usually ask the questions.
Relax, Helen.
Funny having my head in the clouds. I’m used to my feet firmly planted on the ground.
You’ve accomplished much.
I worked hard. It wasn’t easy being a woman.
You’ve much to be proud of.
Thank you. It was fun, exciting, and hell.
We don’t use that word up here, Helen.
Sorry. I also want to say that I regret my comments on the Middle East. But I do sincerely wish that there was peace there.
You’re forgiven.
Thank you. With your permission, I’d like to say my famous last line one more time.
By all means, Helen.
Thank you, Mr. President.
I’m God, Helen. Thank you God.
Randy Mazie
Helen Thomas, b. August 4, 1920 d. July 20, 2013
Among so many other things, she was the first female member of the White House press corps and the UPS’s first female White House Bureau Chief
Wryly funny! Well done. Great idea.
Helen wry – Hell on rye.
Either way – she was something else.
Thanks for the nice comments. Randy
Very cool tribute!
But a tribute never-the-less. She deserves many.
thank you Mr President.. thank you god… hilarious ! I don’t about Helen… but even without it I found the story funny
Thank you. Helen Thomas was an incredible woman – and most of an incredible person.
This is truly hilarious What I particularly liked was your last line, ” I’m God, Helen. Thank you God.”
As Bast says in Patrick Rothfuss’ ‘The Name of the Wind”, ” We all become what we pretend to be.”
Shakti
Hmm. I’ll have to pretend to think about that one… Randy
She was something else…but what? 🙂 I was just wondering last night where you’d gotten to, Randy, and here you are, Hell-on wheels as usual. Hope all’s well.
janet
Hey. hey. let’s not be using that word too loosely… and all’s well and not hell. thank you. Randy
Randy, this was great! Ms. Thomas would have enjoyed your wry humor.
I’m glad to hear it. thanks, Randy
Lovely tribute!
Thank you. She deserves a lovely tribute.
What a wonderful tribute. I’m not sure God would want to answer any of her hard hitting questions though 🙂
Are you calling God a wuss?
Are you calling Helen a bully?
Can Helen really bully God?
All this and more… breaking news at 11:00 PM
Love this. She was a remarkable woman.
She really was.
Dear Randy,
A Hel-of-a good dialogue. Nice tribute. Thank you, Mr. Mazie.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Hel-of-a-nice thing to write, Ms. Wisoff.
Peace back to you, double.
Randy
Standing ovation on the dialogue – perfect “tone” to God’s voice as well!
Golly, thank you. I heard His voice in my head urging me on… or was it egging me on?
Great idea to wrap current events into this week’s story. And I loved the line “We don’t use that word up here, Helen.”!
I heard God clearing his throat as He chastised Helen for saying that…
How wonderful this is Randy. I love “I usually ask the questions.” Ha! A nice little tribute to Helen
I liked that line too. I smiled as it came out…
WELL done! An awesome tribute.
She was awesome.
Ah. She must have been a journalist. Great exchange. Great dialogue.
She was, and will remain so in our memories and the annuls of journalism.
Nice tribute tto the old dame!
