An Olde Peasant Jig to A Dancing Goat
A fleet-footed
bleating goat
will kick a devil’s ass.
So dance and dance
and fiddle on,
But tighten up your pants.
So merry us,
and merry we
go dancing, leap, and sing.
But watch out
for that dancing goat,
which goes a fiddling.
Randy Mazie
oh merry merry, you’ve left a fine offering for the goat. May your new year be cheery and bright! Viva la
viva la…?
Goat must of kicked the lights out of you.
Must keep dancing to stay
out of the devil’s way.
Love the jig…great creative piece!!
Thanks,
Randy
My first time here……..
Goat goddess, but you took my breath away with this!
As the Goat Borrower, I adore The Goat……..and you wrote exactly what I feel!
Gives me a wink and a shiver from Pan……. 😉
Huzzah!
Have a creative day and a wonderful New Year!

The Goat Borrower
Hi Mimi,
Please, I am no breath stealer. I have enough guilt to contend with…
But please allow me to breathe breath back into you… yes, maybe I’m a little fresh but
allow me to pan-der.
Randy
PS Please comeback you goat borrower, you!
Such a merry jig – I love the enthusiasm you brought to this challenge.
Thank you. But the jig’s not up.
Randy
The image of the goat fiddling…I love that! Great poem!
thank you
Randy
Love the image of the goat kicking the Devil’s ass! Watch out for them goats!
Thanks….the goats like to go-at it!
Interesting seeing as goats are often depicted as a symbol of the Devil in Christian literature. Of course, that’s because the early Christians often also depicted him as Pan, in any case, awesome little ditty.
thanks.
It got my goat going…
A fiddling goat… I go for it!
