Have you ever heard an angel’s chorus?
the Sunday Mini-Challenge at the imaginary garden with real toads
challenges poets to write in Common and Hymnal Measure, with the option of an 8-line verse form – The Common or Hymnal Octave. I chose a Hymnal Octave and the following picture by Isadora Gruye:

by Isadora Gruye
An Angel’s Choral Light
An angel’s shadow was outlined
Upon a church at night;
In gray her shape was so defined
My heart leapt at the sight.
Her wings exquisitely designed,
Her head was held upright,
Her hand’s baton was so aligned
To spirit sweet delight.

How wonderful! I can so easily imagine this sung as a hymn or Christmas carol.
Thank you for sharing on Real Toads.
Thank you.
It was fun
So rhythmic…great form!
thank you.
