A Real Sleeper
Once upon a time a sheep rancher sold special sheep exclusively to insomniacs.
Instead of counting sheep, these sheep hummed their owners to sleep. Humming is very peaceful.
One sheep though would “Bah” instead of hum.
This really got the rancher’s goat (ha!).
The rancher named him Bug. You know why.
The rancher yelled, “Hum, Bug!”
But Bug would only “Bah” back, black sheep that he was.
The rancher couldn’t sleep, and long after the moon stood high in the midnight sky, he’d shout:
“Don’t Bah! Hum, Bug!
His business might have gone bankrupt except that he sold Bug to a narcoleptic.

What are you smoking?
hee. hee. Want some, man.
I’ll share.
I’m a good doobie.
BTW – that’s a great compliment in my book. Thanks
Randy
I meant it as a compliment. I’m envious of what comes out of that mind, though I know if I were a grade school teacher and you were one of my students, you’d probably be visiting the principal more than my classroom.
Thanks.
I liked my principal. He used to play jazz accordion with my dad.
Figures!
😉
Oh, this is very clever, Randy…. Well done to you..! 🙂
Well done? That how I like my mutton, lambchops!
Thanks, Ms. Pageabc.

I’m not calm. I’m laughing too much!
laughter is the balm of calm. Sleep well.
Randy
PS glad you enjoyed it so much. I had fun writing it – and I’m still chuckling and smiling as I write this.
Randy –
You got a laugh out of me too, with you last line. And you’re just every bit as sheepish as I am.
Cheers

Wool I’ll be darned. Sheepish, huh? Ha. Funny.
Thanks,
Randy
Another maverick avoiding the whole Scrooge theme: I should have known.
Like the narcoleptic!
fell asleep reading it?
Zzzz, what? Fall asleep, me?
🙂
That is one of the finest shaggy sheepdog stories I’ve heard (read) in a long, long time! Excellent.
ha. Now that’s funny….
