I just stopped by Reason2Rhyme – “So Cliche” for the first time and thought I’d try my hand at it. Below are the instructions for entry.
Reason2Rhyme – “So Cliche”
Monday, July 25, 2012 Poetry Prompt…
Choose a clichéd phrase (“fit as a fiddle,” “think out of the box,” “running on empty,” etc.) and turn it around. Use the new meaning created by this reversal to fuel a poetic meditation.
I have chosen the cliché of having feet of clay (don’t do as I do, do as I say)

The Drunkard’s Advice: Feet Clay
Don’t say as I do, I have clay of feet.
Drink what I say but then beat a retreat
For I’m lying in mud
With a bladder of Bud.
And don’t walk on clay feet from the bar to the street.
Randy Mazie
Great reversal on the cliche! I felt a little tipsy just reading it! (Although the “bladder of Bud” makes me have to go to the bathroom now.)
might have been a “Bludder of Bad.”
Thanks for your comments. It was fun.
Very nice…I just tried my hands at this http://boomiebol.wordpress.com/2012/06/26/running-on-empty/
thanks. I checked out yours and running on empty is sure a lot better than what most pols have to offer these days.
